Career

  • He started playing cricket at the age of 10 as a batsman. But when his coach saw his huge height, he suggested him to try his luck as a bowler.
  • He hone his bowling skills at the National Sporting Club in Chandranagar, and the Utpal Chatterjee Cricket Academy in Kolkata.
  • In November 2017, he made his first-class debut against Vidarbha at Kalyani, where he took 4 wickets.
  • He burst into the scene during the India Under-19 match against Pakistan Under-19 in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup, where he took 4 wickets and single-handedly demolished his batting order.
  • Porel was selected to tour India A New Zealand in January and February 2020.
  • In the 2020 IPL auction, he was bought ahead of the 2020 Indian Premier League by Kings XI Punjab.
