In his first match of the Ashes 2013, Agar batted at number 11 and hit a stunning 98 runs of just 101 balls. He made a brilliant 163-run partnership with the late Philip Hughes for the 10th wicket.
In Sheffield Shield season 2013, Agar took 19 wickets which included 5 wickets and yet another big partnership with Michael Hogan, Where both added 68 runs in the basket for the last wicket and thus gave the team the victory.
